We are proud to have been a partner for many years with SAS. And even more so when they trust us the most important cargo.
Under high media attention today we were privileged to transport the two new residents – pandas: Mao Sun and Xing Er from Kastrup to their new home in Copenhagen Zoo.
After arriving at Copenhagen Airport around 18.15, the cargo boxes with the pandas arrive at Vilhelm Lauritzen Terminal. Here, the official paperwork is carried out – and at the same time there is a welcome ceremony with speeches by the Chinese ambassador to Denmark, Deng Ying, airport director Thomas Woldbye, the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Jakob Ellemann-Jensen, Zoo Copenhagen's chairman, Jørgen Horwitz and the zoo's CEO, Jørgen Nielsen.
The pandas were then driven in a specially painted truck from Kim Johansen Transport Group in partnership with SAS Cargo to their new home at the Zoo.
Here they come in separate stables and are left alone until 10 April, when Queen Margrethe and the zoo's new patron, The Crown Princess Mary, officially opens the panda facility at a gala opening for invited guests.
On Thursday, April 11 at 9 a.m., the official opening of the panda enclosure will come, after which all Zoo visitors can see the two new lodgers.
