Celebrating Happiness and Mental Health on International Day of Happiness
March 20 is the International Day of Happiness—a day to remind us all of the importance of happiness and mental well-being.
At Kim Johansen Transport Group, we understand that happiness is not just a feeling, but a vital part of a healthy and productive work environment.
Mental health and happiness go hand-in-hand. Just as short physical breaks, like taking a pause during a long drive, recharge our energy, mental health moments—such as mindfulness, stretches, a cup of coffee connecting with great colleagues, or even taking time to relax—help keep our minds strong. These moments of well-being can boost creativity, productivity, and overall job satisfaction.
But how to do that, when you are on the road?
In October we made a Mental Health initiative including mindfulness videos and stretch guides to support our drivers and office colleagues to do some good for themselves during the working day. Either when sitting in traffic jams in the truck, during a break, or at the office.
We believe a happy and mentally healthy workforce is a thriving one. When employees feel supported and valued, they're more engaged, more productive, and more likely to stay with the company. Creating a culture of positivity and well-being isn't just good for individuals, it’s good for the whole team.
On this day, let’s spread some joy in small ways—a friendly smile, a kind word, or a thoughtful note to a colleague. These simple acts can have a lasting impact on someone’s day and their mental health.
Remember, happiness and good mental health is a powerful tool—let’s use it to create an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
