Building on our long-standing collaboration, SAS Cargo has chosen Kim Johansen Transport Group (KJTG) as their partner for the Aviation Challenge organized by SkyTeam. The goal of this competition is to demonstrate how the air travel industry can become more sustainable. SAS Cargo has chosen to focus not only on the flight itself, but also on the supply chain, where KJTG play a key role with our road transportation expertise.
This challenge has sparked valuable conversations about what sustainability truly means for the transportation industry and how it goes beyond environmental concerns to ensure the core purpose of the business: long-term economic viability. Ultimately, much of the power in terms of sustainability lies in the choices of our customers.
For this challenge, we were determined to select the best-performing drivers—not only in terms of eco-driving techniques but also in terms of skills and experience. We have adjusted our regular equipment to match the volume of the order, ensuring no unnecessary empty space in our trailers. Last but not least, we have chosen to substitute regular diesel with HVO—an efficient and cleaner fuel compared to traditional biodiesel or fossil diesel, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%.
While numerous factors—such as load weight, terrain, and weather conditions—affect performance, we are confident that our contribution has made the transportation of air cargo as sustainable as possible.
Looking into the future, we remain committed to advancing a sustainable transport sector, and we are convinced that “sustainability” will become a cornerstone in every decision people make. Do you agree?
